Join us for a moment of stillness, reflection, and secular prayer to find the middle way of peace and compassion amidst conflict.

Considering the unfolding horror of the present moment, compounded by the fatigue of vigilance and trauma we all must be feeling from several years of pandemic and politically charged outrage, We, the contributors and friends of The Walled Garden, found ourselves compelled toward a path of compassion and witnessing.

We are of the shared belief that what is not needed is another volley of opinion, but neither could we in good conscience keep silent or look away, and simply do nothing. We realised that when one cannot find what we are looking for in the world, we are called to create it. We do not need to have all the answers, we do not need to know how to solve the whole problem, all we need is enough courage to put down our raw and impotent empathy, dust off our compassion and create the shelter we are longing for.

On November 16 (check your local date and time), we will be coming together for Lighting Candles, A Vigil for Humanity.

All welcome.
