I grew up humbly in a small town in Eastern Canada. With a Bachelor of Engineering, I work in project management. In 2020, I started The Strong Stoic Podcast and have since become a founding member of The Walled Garden, where I am a philosopher and mentor. I enjoy mixing different philosophical teachings, modern science, and works of fiction together to answer the question of: how should we act such that we have the best chances of flourishing?
AREAS OF INTEREST & EXPERTISE
TRIBUTE: Fyodor Dostoevsky
“Above all, don’t lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.”
– Fyodor Dostoevsky
Fyodor Dostoevsky wrote several masterpieces, including Crime and Punishment, The Brother’s Karamazov, and Notes From Underground. Due to a mock assassination, Dostoevsky suffered brain trauma which allowed him to delve deep (and dark) into his characters. He addresses the balance between faith and reason, the darkest sides of human psychology, and unforgivable sins.
THE STRONG STOIC PODCAST
Philosophy is about exploring life’s deepest questions. In The Walled Garden, I think it vital that our community leave no stone unturned in the search for truth, and the meetups are a great place for this exploratory process.
Community and shared dialogue are absolutely vital for philosophical transformation. As we engage in quiet conversation, so too are we transformed. Click on any of the links below to register for upcoming events that I’ll be facilitating within The Walled Garden.
