CREATING AN EVENT

  1. Go to CONTRIBUTORS > ADD AN EVENT in the menu.

  2. Add a title (titles should be brief and should capture the essence of what people will get from coming to this event).

  3. Choose a featured image.

  4. Add an event description of roughly 30-40 words. This description should explain what people will learn, who will be there, and why it will be a valuable experience.
  5. Add a 10-20 word event excerpt. This will help people to quickly understand what the event is about and what they’ll learn.
  6. Select the event category. For events to show up on the public event page and also the specific Grove you manage, you’ll need to select the Grove name as the category. For an event to show only for members of your Grove, select “Grove Event” under your Grove name category.
  7. Select the start date/time and end date/time.
  8. Select the event organiser.
  9. Choose the event colour. This is not vital, so leave yellow as the default.
  10. Choose the event attendance limit, or select “Unlimited”.
  11. Add any tags that represent your event, and separate tags with commas. E.g. “Seneca, Wisdom, Philosophy.”
  12. Under “Zoom Event”, select “Meeting”. Insert your Zoom meeting link under “Zoom URL” and then add “Zoom Link” to the “Title” section.
  13. If your event is a private event for your grove, you can stop here and publish the event via the blue button at the bottom of the page. Visit the event page to check that all details are correct.
  14. If the event is public and ticketed, you can create multiple ticket options in the “Tickets” section. To add a ticket, click “Add Ticket” and fill in the ticket name, description, price label, and available tickets. A good default for public events (if you’d like to give the option to donate) is as follows: Complimentary Registration, $5 Donation Upon Registration, $10 Donation Upon Registration, and $20 Donation Upon Registration. Once tickets are set up, publish the event and visit the event page to confirm all details are correct.
