Before we start this journey together, I’ll give you some important ideas and strategies for how you can get the most out of this course.
We’ll kick off the course with a powerful exercise used by the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius to gain clarity on his personal ideals, and to reconnect with deep wisdom he’d learned throughout his life.
For day three, I’ll encourage you to contemplate some wisdom from the philosopher Seneca about the divinity within each of us. Whether you believe Seneca or not, this exercise will allow you to think differently about your own capacities, as well as the way you treat yourself and others.
Epictetus will be our guide for this exercise, and with his help, I’ll encourage you to participate in a healthy and balanced self-appraisal, noting both your strengths and your weaknesses.
I’ll guide you as you create your own personal ideal by meditating and journalling on the person you’d like to become and the life you’d like to live in six fundamental areas of your life (what I call “the six major pieces of the life puzzle”).
By this stage, you’ll have composed a compelling vision of the person you’d like to become, and the ideal that you’re aiming at. I’ll round out the course by giving you my best strategies for how you can move closer to this ideal every day.

Since 2015, I’ve been exploring the timeless principles found in the philosophical school of Stoicism. My podcasts have now been downloaded over 3 million times, but most importantly, I’ve been able to help thousands of global citizens to live a life of deep meaning and full engagement.
Through my philosophical mentoring practise, I’ve helped dozens of individuals from around the globe to gain a more sophistocated philosophical understanding, and to invest that understanding into their path toward a deeply meaningful life.
