In my own writings, I defend a theory called moral realism which says that values are independent facts of the world. They are hard to discern, of course, but they are as real as chairs and tables. If that is true, it has some interesting implications for how we should approach our lives. It is not so much about creating your own values (like in existentialism), but finding out which values are actually there and which will fit your own way of life (like in ancient philosophy).
I’m a philosopher, ethicist, and researcher based in Bonn, Germany. My major areas of interest are Stoicism, philosophy for life, and ethics.
